The second semester of the 2012-2013 school year brought many new things to Dartmouth High. The locking of the back doors was one of them. From 8:40 in the morning, until the end of the day, the back doors are locked, preventing strangers, and students, from entering.
Teachers and students have been instructed not to open the doors for anyone. Administration claims that locking the back doors will prevent dangerous outsiders from coming into the school, but students seem to disagree.
"People could just come in the front door, no one is stopping that," said Jessica, a DHS senior. "We aren't allowed to park anywhere else. We should be able to use those doors." The doors are located directly off the student parking lot.
