Best Buddies is a group of students who hang out with the learning centre kids every second Friday to play games and participate in school activities. Best Buddies is run by Jake. THE BREAKFAST PROGRAM
Hungry? The Breakfast Program is serving breakfast in the cafeteria every morning. Fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, yogurt, and other items are available to ANYONE free of charge. Our Spartan Leadership team run the program with the help of teacher volunteers. If you would like to help at any time just let Mr. Zinck or Ms. MacDonald (Rm. 230) know. DEBATE CLUB
We argue with each other for an hour and a half. We meet on Tuesdays in Mr. Cosgrove’s room. HIP HOP CLUB
The Hip Hop Club meets three times a week to dance for fun, learn new choreography, and prepare for school events. If you are interested, please join us in the Judo room on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays! IMPROV
IMPROV! IMPROV! IMPROV! Improv is a great way to make friends and be weird. Our club is Mondays at lunch and anyone can attend. Our three teams, Fist, Fury and Thunder, are all competitive improvisors competing in the Canadian Improv Games. Theater sport is all about having fun and laughing. We are all improv all the time. #keepfundingthearts!! THE INTERACT CLUB
Students work together to learn about the world and create awareness of human rights and environmental issues. Some of our projects so far this year: the 30 Hour Famine, We Scare Hunger (food drive), Christmas Toy Drive, the assembly for Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women, a school yard clean up, and a fundraiser for Hope for Wildlife. This student-led club meets Mondays at lunch with Ms. McGowan and Ms. Hughes in room 232. New members are welcome! L.O.V.E.
The LOVE (Leave Out Violence) group meets every second Tuesday to connect on a genuine level about issues that affect us all. We share stories, talk about social and personal issues, play games, and eat pizza! Leave your judgments at the door and join us for some real talk. SOUND & LIGHTS
Sound and lights is a small crew of techies who help with any and all events taking place in Keating Hall and throughout the school. We are trained in sound and lighting. We meet every second Thursday — and are run by grade 11 students Luke, Maddie, and Saxon. We're pretty cool too. =) YEARBOOK COMMITTEE
The Yearbook Committee is dedicated to capturing all the memories the students make at Dartmouth High School and compiling them into a book for students to cherish forever. The committee is headed by Ms. MacDonald and Jostens. This club meets every Tuesday in room 229 to discuss new ideas and suggestions. |
Interact ClubBy Julia Russell
--- This has been one busy year for Dartmouth High's Interact Club. Starting in September and running until the end of May, the club accomplished many things and made a big impact in our local and global community. The club was able to raise over $3000 for Syrian refugees through the "30 hour famine," hold many community clean-ups, as well as a supply drive, toy drive and food drive, put on an educational assembly for "The Day of Prevention of Violence Against Women" and hold a successful Earth Week. Thanks for the huge support from the Dartmouth High community for helping make all these events successful! REPRESENT YOUR CLUB HERE.Send us your club news. 50 words max. The Dart wants your photos and videos too — consider having everyone in the club complete a media consent form so all DHS can see what you do. Want to tell us more?
